Vlčková lies in the valley of the Kameňák stream, in the south-western part of the Hostýnské vrchy range. It is north-east of Zlín.

The first written record of the village dates to 1373, when it was referred to as Wilzkow. It belonged to the Lukov estate. Several original Wallachian timber houses survive, and a chapel with a carved cross stands in the centre of the village.
